Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the Self Car Washes mobile app and the websites isepesulad.ee and selfcarwashes.com collect, why, and the choices you have. The service is a directory of self-service car washes. You can browse it without creating an account — we have no logins and collect no names, passwords, or payment details.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Devaster OÜ (Estonia). For any privacy question or request, contact info@devaster.ee.

The mobile app

Location

If you grant location permission, the app uses your device's location to centre the map on you, sort nearby car washes by distance, and — if you enable it — show a local notification when a car wash is close by. Your location is processed on your device. It is not transmitted to our servers, stored by us, or shared with third parties. Granting location is optional; the rest of the app works without it, and you can revoke the permission at any time in your device settings.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app registers a push token with the Expo push service so we can send you relevant updates. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings. The “car wash nearby” alert is generated locally on your device from your own location and is not sent anywhere.

Favourites and settings

Car washes you star as favourites, and app preferences, are stored only on your device. They are not uploaded to us and are removed when you delete the app.

Car-wash data

The app downloads the public car-wash directory from our servers. Like any internet request, this reaches our hosting provider with technical metadata (such as your IP address and device type), which is processed only to operate and secure the service. The map itself is rendered by Google Maps; loading it shares your IP address and map interactions with Google under its own privacy policy.

The websites

The websites use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights, a privacy-friendly, cookieless measurement tool. It records aggregated usage (page views, referring site, approximate country-level location, device and browser type) and does not build a cross-site profile of you or identify you personally. The map may ask your browser for location to centre on you; that is handled by your browser and used only in the page.

If you use the contact form, the name, email address, and message you submit are sent (via our email provider, Resend) to us so we can reply. We keep that correspondence only as long as needed to handle your enquiry.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of processors who handle data on our behalf:

• Vercel — website and API hosting, analytics, and speed insights.
• Google Maps — rendering the interactive map.
• Expo — delivering app push notifications.
• Resend — delivering contact-form email.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of any personal data we hold about you, and object to or restrict its processing. Email info@devaster.ee. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon).

Children

The service is a general-audience directory and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date above.
